It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Judith Dunstan, affectionately known as “Miss D”, on 15th December 2025.

Judith worked as the Year 3 teacher at Brambletye for an incredible 45 years.  During her career, she taught around 900 children with immense patience, vast knowledge and much skill. She imbued a confidence in pupils which enabled them to thrive during their time at Brambletye.  When she arrived in 1974 she was one of only two members of female staff and instead of taking Games she ran her popular cookery and board games clubs which are  still fondly remembered by Old Brambletyeans today.

A tribute to Judith, written by Mr Jeff Gallagher when Miss D retired from Brambletye in 2019, can be read here.

In accordance with Miss D’s wishes there will not be a memorial service. However, we would love to collect your memories. If you would like to share these, please send them to ob@brambletye.com
