This year’s 1st team hockey developed into one of the best and most successful hockey teams that Brambletye has produced since the introduction of girl’s hockey in 1999.

This year we were fortunate enough to have five girls in the squad who had served their apprenticeship and represented the 1st team last year. In practice sessions this term all the girls worked extremely hard on their body strength, fitness and skill both on and off the ball. As the season went on we managed to record some fabulous victories over some very strong opposition teams in both intoor and outdoor hockey matches.

The season produced numerous highlights but the pick of these included beating Handcross Park 7-0, beating Cumnor House 8-2, beating Holmewood House 9 - 7 and the fabulous hockey played by all our 1st Team girls in the East Grinstead U 13s Outdoor Tournament. Nevertheless, the icing on the cake came in our very last fixture of the season when we won the Copthorne Indoor Tournament.
